English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at Mohawk is a series of 8 levels of 7-week courses designed to develop language skills for students from beginner to college level. 18 – 24 hours synchronous and asynchronous, varying according to the level. With six start dates, the EAP program welcomes students at different times of the year and also caters to those who only want a short period of academic language instruction. At the EAP senior levels, students have the opportunity to earn two post-secondary credits for their degree program. Mohawk College reserves the right to restrict, cancel, adjust or postpone courses, courses or educational programs as required. Courses will be cancelled if they do not reach the minimum registration rates by the start date. The college will endeavour to contact you in advance if a course needs to be cancelled. However, the College cannot accept responsibility for expenses (travel expenses, etc.) incurred if you attend a course that has been cancelled or postponed.

The minimum requirement for admission to postsecondary programs is an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent established by the College or 19 years of age or older at the time of program start. Our courses, excursions and activities will allow you to improve your English skills in a fun and safe environment with your peers! To ensure that you are able to handle the reading, writing, and communication requirements of your courses, all full-time certificate and diploma programs require Grade 12 English (or equivalent) as an entry requirement. Most technology, economics, and health sciences programs also require appropriate math and/or science courses. The College reserves the right to limit registration for most non-credit general and continuing education courses to individuals 19 years of age or older.

Provides various services related to translation and/or determination of Canadian equivalents to university degrees obtained abroad. Not all downloads are required for every student. Save time and determine what`s needed for your application. Please visit your program website and read your course descriptions carefully and determine if any equipment or materials are required. Make a plan to acquire these items before you leave home or when you arrive in Canada. If you`re waiting for you to arrive in Canada, make sure you arrive early enough to have time to find and buy everything you need. Some devices are program-specific and you may need to purchase them once you arrive in Canada. Tip: There are many informal ways to improve your language skills at Mohawk. Consider hiring a peer mentor and attending the many events at the Language and Culture Centre for friendly, stress-free opportunities to work on your language skills. For students who apply directly to the college without the assistance of an authorized Mohawk representative, your CLBPT (benchmark) results are valid for 24 months from the date of your last assessment. *This deadline extension is supported due to COVID-19 and is subject to change. Applicants who wish to be considered for a semester other than 1 for Advanced Standing should contact the applicant`s support team directly to confirm next steps. If Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has notified you that your study permit application has been refused, you have two options: Mohawk College offers more than 100 full-time certificate, diploma and degree programs. In addition, many programs can be completed part-time through continuing education, including an ever-increasing number of courses available online or remotely. Clear requirements – If your offer of admission or letter of admission includes academic or language requirements, you must submit updated transcripts or scorecards at least 2 weeks before the start of classes.
